Select the Right Shackle for Your Load

1. Body Shape: Bow vs. Dee

• Bow Shackles (Omega Shape): The rounded "O" shape allows for articulation and can handle loads from multiple angles. Ideal for use with multi-leg slings or when connecting to wide straps.
• Dee Shackles (Chain Shackles): The narrow "D" shape is designed for straight-line pulls. Best used for joining single chains or wire ropes where side-loading is not an issue.

2. Pin Type: Screw Pin vs. Safety Bolt

• Screw Pin: Quick to install and remove. Suitable for temporary or non-critical lifting applications ("Pick and Place").
• Safety Bolt Type: Features a bolt, nut, and cotter pin. Essential for permanent installations or applications where vibration might cause a screw pin to back out.
